The Varsity Series 2009 - Raised over £9,000 for Balls To Poverty!

Throughout 2009, student athletes from The University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University competed in a number of high profile sporting events across the City. Each sporting event raised money for Balls To Poverty as the nominated Charity for the 2009 series. The Series raised an amazing £9,000 for our project. In addition, Nottingham University Football Club named Balls To Poverty their charity of the year and raised over £1,500.

Balls to Poverty is the nominated charity for the 2009 University Varsity Sports series and everyone is welcome to every event.

In 2009, Nottingham Forest Football Club named Balls To Poverty as their Charity for the 2009/10 Season.

The Club will work closely with the project to run a series of fund-raising events and activities across The City that engage with the community in the build up to our April 2010 visit and the World Cup in June 2010. The events will include;

Golf day

A Question of Sport Nottingham event

Charity bike ride

Christmas bag-packing and bucket collections

 Formal Balls To Poverty Dinner and Auction

There will be many more events taking place and we will keep you updated.
